Revlon PhotoReady Insta Filter Foundation Review

Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Filter Foundation

Are you always struggling with finding the right foundation for yourself? Or do you ever wonder how that girl down the street is carrying flawless makeup? Well, it’s time for you to get out of that FOMO and get that look yourself because we’ll be reviewing an amazing product today, the Revlon PhotoReady Insta Filter Foundation.

When it comes to foundations and concealers, I’m very particular about what I want and what I don’t. I love lightweight foundations that don’t feel too heavy and visibly artificial on the skin, but at the same time provide really good coverage. Two years ago I bought Revlon PhotoReady Insta Filter Foundation in the shade “Medium Beige” and today’s review is going to be all about that.

The product claimed to provide a high-definition filter technology that captures light to blur the flaws, whereas the built-in applicator steals the limelight. Honestly, it has changed the makeup game for me ever since.
Read on to know my experience with it so far!

Packaging: So this Revlon Insta Filter Foundation comes in a cylindrical bottle with a transparent cap. Additionally, it comes along with an in-built sponge applicator that comes really handy when you’re running out of makeup sponges. Although, it’s completely up to you in case you’re comfortable using your regular makeup sponge. There is also a black colored dispenser at the bottom that needs to be twisted to take out the foundation. All in all, the packaging is really practical and user-friendly and doesn’t cause any spillage at all.

Shades: I’m in the shade Medium Beige which has yellow undertones and perfectly suits people with medium to fair skin. Also, they come in a variety of shades so there’s something for every skin tone.

Texture: The texture of this foundation is thick, like that of a mousse and it blends like magic. It’s super smooth and a little product goes a long way. Even the in-built blender that comes along with it is pretty good and does the job well. It’s been almost two years since I’ve been using the foundation and the blender hasn’t torn off a bit.

Fragrance: I don’t have much to say about the product fragrance, but it’s very subtle and goes away in a few seconds of the application.

Coverage: This is a medium-high coverage foundation that I would not suggest wearing daily. It is good for some events, functions, and parties when you’re doing a heavy makeup look. Although, it does oxidize a bit if you layer it up and hence, your skin starts looking a couple of shades darker. Also, I prefer using this foundation with my own damp beauty blender for better results because the built-in applicator somehow doesn’t blend the foundation well on my skin. Overall, this PhotoReady Insta Filter foundation is great and provides a decent finish and coverage to my skin.

Staying power: If you’ve layered up the foundation, it can provide you with a decent staying power of around 8 hours. However, with a single layer, it can last around 4-5 hours. Additionally, staying power can be enhanced by using makeup fixers and primers.

Would I Recommend It? If you’re looking for some pocket-friendly foundations, there are many other options out there that would do pretty much the same job. But if you can invest in a good foundation for heavy makeup looks, this foundation by Revlon can be a good buy for you. It lasts for a good 7-8 hours on average and the shelf life is great too.
