La Roche Posay Products Review
1. La Roche Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel For Oily Skin
What is it?
La Roche Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel is an alcohol, paraben, and colorant-free purifying facial wash that not only cleanses but also maintains skin’s pH balance with 5.5 pH.
Who is it for?
This is specifically formulated for oily, shiny, sensitive, and acne-prone skin types.
What does it contain?
- Zinc Pidolate, that has purifying, astringent, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties.
- Thermal Spring Water, a pure naturally occurring skin-soothing water.
- Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Phenoxyethanol, and Parfum are among the not-so-good ingredients in this.
La Roche Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel For Oily Skin Review:
This is a clear slightly runny gel face wash with a synthetic laboratory scent?! As expected, it foams up really well with a tiny doll up of the product; it contains SLS, a highly foaming surfactant. The cleanser rinses off easily and doesn’t leave any slippery residue. It deeply cleanses the pores removing oils & impurities. It gives a very refreshing, awakening, and squeaky cleaned skin. This cleanser is neither hydrating nor drying my oily skin. It leaves my skin’s surface well balanced. Since it’s not a cleanser for dry skin and is formulated with oil-controlling ingredients, if dry skin people use it, it is going to be a bit drying. The cleanser alone is not sufficient to treat pimples or acne. Nevertheless, using this cleanser gives lesser breakouts than it would normally. It efficiently controls excess sebum production and does not clog pores. Overall, it is a nice acne skin-friendly cleanser. Use it along with a hydrating toner and soothing moisturizer.
My Rating: 4/5
2. La Roche Posay Tolerine Hydrating Gentle Cleanser
What is it?
La Roche Posay Tolerine Hydrating Cleanser is a gentle facial cleanser that does not strip off skin’s natural nutrients.
Who is it for?
This is suitable for Normal to Dry, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin Types.
What does it contain?
- Thermal Spring Water, a pure naturally occurring skin-soothing water.
- Ceramide-3 has Anti-aging benefits to reduce wrinkles.
- Niacinamide, a skin brightening agent.
- Glycerin, a humectant to hydrate the skin.
La Roche Posay Tolerine Hydrating Gentle Cleanser Review:
Although it’s meant for Normal to Dry skin, I loved this for my oily skin. This is definitely much gentler than the Effaclar Cleanser. It is a cream cleanser, similar to a cleansing milk, that doesn’t foam at all. It doesn’t have a scent which a big plus for me. It cleans the skin well removing oils & impurities while leaving the skin hydrated. It doesn’t remove makeup since this is a mild cleanser. But it works perfectly when preceded with micellar water for makeup removal. The cleanser is also great to use as a morning cleanser and also during the cold winters.
Overall I really enjoyed using this gentle pharmacy cleanser. It has a good set of ingredients and is Fragrance-free, Paraben-free, Oil-Free, Soap Free and Sulphate Free. It’s also Non-comedogenic and can be very well used by acne-prone skin types. I haven’t found any cons with this cleanser and I would recommend this for those looking for a gentle hydrating cleanser.
My Rating: 4.5/5
3. La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water
What is it?
This is a soothing face mist for sensitive skin that gently refreshes and tones the skin. This thermal spring water is naturally rich in minerals with scientifically demonstrated soothing and antioxidant properties.
Who is it for?
Suitable for All. Best for Eczema, Rosacea, Sensitive and Dehydrated Skin. Suits even the most fragile ones including newborns, children, adults, pregnant women.
What does it contain?
- Just Thermal Spring Water, a naturally occurring pure water from the Earth’s crust.
- Rich in antioxidants and minerals, particularly Selenium.
- The water has natural prebiotic properties: it rebalances the skin’s microbiome to reinforce the skin.
- Oil-free, Fragrance-free, Paraben-free, Additive Free.
La Roche Thermal Spring Water Review:
This is a fantastic face mist. It’s just pure mineral water, but it’s very addicting. I love how calming it feels on the skin. It soothes hot flushes, redness and decreases inflammations and irritations. I use it as a toner as well as a mid-day refresher. I also love how finely and smoothly they can spritz the water on the skin; unlike some aerosol sprays that come out as sharp droplets. For an intensely soothing effect, I like to place a cotton pad sprayed with this spring water on the irritated area. It beautifully tranquilizes irritated and sunburnt skin. This water has the capability to instantly rehydrate your dehydrated skin caused due to prolonged exposure to cold weather.
In all, this is a great product for sensitive skin. It not only refreshes, soothes, hydrates, and tones skin, it also re-balances the skin moisture level.
My Rating: 4/5
4. La Roche Posay Lipid Replenishing Cleansing Oil
What is it?
La Roche Posay Cleansing Oil is a face & body lipid-replenishing cleansing oil with anti-irritation and anti-scratching efficacy.
Who is it for?
Suitable for extreme dryness, atopic eczema-prone skin. It is also suitable for children, the baby’s scalp, and intimate areas.
What does it contain?
- Exclusive patented ingredient Aqua Posse Filiformis which reduces microbiome to prevent flare-ups.
- Niacinamide, an anti-inflammatory and soothes itching sensations.
- Shea Butter rebuilds damaged skin barriers and protects skin against dryness.
La Roche Posay Lipid Replenishing Cleansing Oil Review:
Initially, I perceived this product as a makeup remover/first cleanser. But it is not that. It is a cleansing oil that can be used in-shower replacing your soaps and shower gels. Simply put, it is a body wash. The product is not exactly oil but it has a semi gel-like consistency. It emulsifies into a creamy form while rubbed and foams up heavily when it comes in contact with water.
This thing works amazingly well as a nourishing body wash. It cleans, rinses off easily, and leaves the skin extremely smooth and soft. It is perfect to tackle extreme dryness and irritations. The scent of the body wash is love. It has a fresh clean scent. It’s very subtle and barely stays on the skin post-cleansing, making it an ideal choice for sensitive skin. It’s also paraben-free and alcohol-free.
This is not a very popular La Roche Posay product. But it is worth giving a shot. I love how soothing it is for my itchy, hive breakout-prone skin.
Rating: 4.4/5
5. La Roche Posay Lipikar Body Milk
What is it?
A highly effective, skin repairing cold cream-based body milk that provides long-lasting hydration for dry and dehydrated skin.
Who is it for?
For the whole family, from babies to seniors. Best suited for Dry, Uncomfortable, and Sensitive Skin.
What does it contain?
- 10% Shea butter for lipid-replenishment
- 60% La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water, known for its naturally soothing and protecting properties.
- Contains Niacinamide to bring long-lasting comfort to all dry skin, even the most delicate and sensitive.
La Roche Posay Lipikar Body Milk Review:
It’s a nice body milk that nourishes and keeps skin soft and healthy. It did provide long-lasting hydration throughout the day. I loved its satiny weightless texture. It’s rich but at the same time gets absorbed nicely and doesn’t make skin greasy. It reduces dryness-induced itchiness. Above all, it’s Unscented and Paraben free.
I liked using the body milk as it kept my skin away from dryness. The product as such is not unique. One could easily find similar body milk elsewhere. But still, this is a good quality unscented body milk that calms sensitive and reactive skin.
My Rating: 3.8/5

For oily acne-prone skin.

- Mannose stimulates skin regeneration.
- APF helps durably restore skin balance.
- Niacinamide, active ingredient for intensive soothing.
- Piroctone olamine to combat bacterial proliferation
- LHA and salicylic acid micro-exfoliates without irritating.
- Zinc PCA reduces sebum secretion.
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Review:
This is one of the best face gel for acne-prone skin. It is a clear gel that is applied as a thin layer covering the full face. Due to the presence of zinc, this gel can be slightly drying even for oily skin types. I always made sure to use a hydrating toner before this. This product is super effective in treating active acne and preventing the formation of new pimples. No wonder this has been raved by many. It also goes well under makeup and can be used both during the day and night.
The only major con, this is available only in the European countries. In the US, you get a different product name -Effaclar Duo with Benzoyl Peroxide, which is not the same and is to be used only as a spot treatment.
My Rating: 4.5/5
Some of the other Best La Roche Posay Products are Anthelios Sunscreen, Tolerine Hydrating Cleanser, and Tolerine Double Repair Moisturizer.
Are La Roche Posay Products Good?
La Roche Posay is certainly a brand that you need to look for if you have extremely sensitive and reactive skin. Most of their products have skin-soothing ingredients and are free of parabens, alcohol, and fragrance.
