Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation Review & Swatches

Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation

I am very fond of flash photography and always being camera ready. Ideally, I opt for foundations which don’t have SPF in it, because the SPF makes you appear white in flash lights. When I came across The Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation and read about the Brand Claim – it can undergo seven kinds of light conditions with and without flash. I was in for this product. Drugstore Foundations seems to keep on getting better and better day by day.  Let’s see how this foundation performs!

Product Description:

The Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation is a high definition foundation. It gives a flawless and matt finish look to your face. It is designed to “undergo seven light conditions” to give your skin a “#non-filter perfection”. It makes your skin look beautiful, flawless, and matt finished. It always gives you camera ready look.

Those who love experimenting with different foundation shades, can simply wear it on a daily basis. All you need to do; is mix it with your favourite cream or moisturizer, and use it as a BB/CC cream. It gives a healthy youthful glow and a flawless skin that makes you feel confident and pretty. It is a blessing for all oily skin type beauties, as it gives an amazing matt canvas to work on. So, if you are looking for a great matte foundation for this “wedding season” go for this one, without burning a hole in your wallet. It’s a beauty bargain!

Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation

My take on Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation:

Packaging: The Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation comes in a usual square shaped glass bottle with a black cap. It comes with a nice wand applicator that resembles the packaging of the Lakme Foundation. The ‘wand applicator’ makes it very easy to use, also helps to avoid wastage of the product. The foundation doesn’t spill easily because of the black cap. The size of the product is compact, but due to glass packaging one has to be careful if taken for travel.

Shade: Talking about the shade, it is available in 6 shades and it is made for all skin tones from fair to deep. I am a yellow skin tone person with a fair complexion; therefore, I went for the shade “Soft Beige” which is described for fair complexion but with a cool tone. Usually, I prefer Ivory shade for myself because I kind of warm it up with the bronzer. At times you feel like experimenting, so I thought to dive in to create a look with this shade. Trust me on it; it works like magic on my skin! It gives a natural matt finish, and hides the redness and imperfections as well.  Well, I did go for the “Flash photography Challenge”. True to the claim, it did pass it and gave me #NOFILTERPERFECTION look.

Coverage: The coverage is the main feature which makes me like a foundation at the first place. Now, I used the wand applicator to apply the foundation on my face. In the first application, it did hide the redness and the dark circle. So, I did build the coverage, by reapplying it with a beauty blender. Well, it did give a medium to full coverage, for a drugstore product. The consistency of the product is awesome. I would say it gives a “full coverage” and “matt finish”; nowhere did this product give me a sheer or glossy finish.

Texture: Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation has a good thin consistency. It glides smooth on the skin and blends easily. Amazing part is it blends easily with a brush. You can build up the coverage with a beauty blender. Light-weighted and comfortable on the skin, doesn’t look patchy. It is great for any skin type, dry or oily. In winters use it as much as you can, since it doesn’t clog the pores and let’s the skin breathe, keeping it smooth and soft throughout the day. It gives a natural skin like finish and doesn’t look ghostly white under the flashlight. It’s neither too dewy nor to matt works well for the contour, blush, highlighter and setting powder to get a structured look. It takes your make up to the next level.

How I use the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation?

Step 1: First off, I prep and prime my face, and use a little bit of orange colour corrector underneath my eyes, round my mouth area, and my four head. This really helps me a lot to get a perfect base and doesn’t make my foundation dark after some time or turn grey. This step neutralizes the skin to hide the imperfections.

Step 2: Using the wand applicator, I use the applicator in a dot form all over my face. I blend it at first with a synthetic brush. The blending brush makes me blend the product really well, since I have a dry skin, using a beauty blender makes my skin appear dry.

Step 3: Now, I like to build up the coverage. So, I take some more of the product on the back of my hand, and re-apply it with a damp beauty blender. It helps me blend the product and gives the foundation/base an airbrush finish.

Lastly, I like to give a dewy finish to my foundation therefore I apply my MAC Prep plus Prime Fix Spray to make the makeup stay at its place throughout the day.

Staying Power: It stays for over 6-7 hours when worn alone. However, for the longevity of the product I tend to use a setting powder as well as Fix Spray. This makes my make up last for 12 hours. I have used this product on a bridal make up over a thin cream base, and it did last for the entire evening.
