Strobing has been a trend these days in the beauty industry. What is strobing? It is a fun term for highlighting. Extra highlighting gives a dewy, shimmery and youthful glow to your skin. I am obsessed with strobing and highlighters. When I noticed this liquid highlighter by Makeup revolution, I couldn’t resist a highlighter/illuminator at such an affordable price. I ordered the Makeup Revolution Highlighter in shade ‘Lustre Gold’, which is perfect for my yellow skin tone. They are cruelty free, gluten free and vegan. It is one of the super drugstore products of UK.
Product Description:
Makeup Revolution Highlighter in Lustre Gold is a light pink with warm undertones with a metallic sheen highlighter. This semi -sheer to nearly opaque coverage with a smooth, lightweight texture can be used for various purposes in make-up. It can be used alone as highlighter, apply on the high points of the cheeks and blend it with a beauty blender or a fan brush else for an instant glow.
It works well as a primer (gives a fake tan) or mix it with your favorite foundation for a dewy and illuminating finish. You can mix it with your body lotion or cream to get a beautiful all over glow. There are seven shades of this product which are available online.

How to use? Best apply it using your fingers. It blends quiet easily but with the brush it gets a little tricky and it might mess up your base or make it move. And with the beauty blender, it might not get transferred completely from the sponge to the face. You can blend it with a beauty blender. Also, cover the high points of your face – bridge of nose, high points of cheek, under the eyebrows, forehead and your Cupid’s bow.
My take on Makeup Revolution Highlighter Lustre Gold:
Packaging: The packaging is very attractive pink gold glass bottle with a dropper cap. The dropper makes it easy to apply and check the quantity of the product before applying. The packaging is travel friendly and doesn’t spill at all. The only problem is the glass bottle; therefore, you need to be a little careful with it, especially if you plan to travel with it.
Texture: The glow off the Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter is intense. It is highly pigmented. You need to keep in mind that a little bit goes a very long way with this product. It’s a way more full on than say Benefit Moon Beam/High Beam. It can be acknowledged as dupe of the high end highlighters, it doesn’t even burn a hole in your wallet.
Shade: The shade “Lustre Gold” is ideal for all Indian skin tone beauties. It gives a luster and gorgeous glow to the cheeks. It enhances the areas that you love to highlight from the bridge of the nose, to the high points of the cheeks and the temples of the forehead. The best part about this product is it enhances the “cupids bow” so well that it compliments all my lipstick shades. I have used it in many of my bridal make up looks and it gives a sheen glow which enhances the ‘beauty of the bride to be’ more on her big day.
This is for all my beauties who love a natural glowing cheeks or an insanely glowing complexion. It gives a camera ready glowing cheekbones.
Staying Power: Makeup Revolution Highlighter has a staying power of 6-7 hours; however, if sealed with a powder highlighter you don’t need to touch up for the entire day. I tend to use it just as strobe cream and it gives me glow from 7-8 hours, when I blend it with a moisturizer. It is transferable so you should seal you make up with setting powder or with baking procedure (with banana powder).

- Shimmer particles might be too overpowering for some people.
Overall, I highly recommend the Makeup Revolution Highlighter to all the girls who are fond of highlighting their faces. It is an awesome product at such an affordable price and gives camera ready cheekbones. I have been using this product for the last six months and always been complimented for that glow on your face.
