Ladies, all of us can converge on this statement “Nude Lipsticks are hell lot of confusing”. Sure, everybody will agree that these “nude” lipsticks are essentials for make-up kits, but they still prove to be elusive. It is difficult to choose for a perfect nude neutral lipstick compared to buying a color based one. After playing with lot of dark colours I decided to go on the hunt of nude neutral lipsticks (again!) and I also wanted my lipstick to be more than just a neutral shade. I did not want it to lie flat on my lips like Kim Kardashian’s lips look sometime, of course she looks pretty in everything, but I am not a big fan of her lipstick colors. One of the reason why I don’t want flat colours is that I am not a big fan of strobing or shimmer or bronzer or highlighters. I have always been inclined towards bare-minimum or natural make-up look and flesh colored lipsticks are just not my thing. While matte nude colours look pretty for a casual outing or work places, but things change when you go for festive events or not-so-casual work get-togethers. For similar occasions, I wanted a neutral lipstick that had some volume to it if you are getting my idea and gave some definition to lips without changing the neutrality of my make-up. So, after pushing the sales executive to the limit where any other word out of my mouth would have her bang head on the counter, I managed to get my hands on Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Coffee Bean. This lipstick has been out here for a while now, but as it caught my attention lets see how it worked for me.

My take on Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Coffee Bean:
Packaging: The bullet has shiny black body with brand name embossed on a golden strip. The cap fits on with a click, so you need to careful with that, if not fixed properly the cap may fall out. The bottom of the bullet has a sticker with the shade name, but the bullet is not color coded.
Fragrance: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick has no significant smell.
Texture: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Coffee Bean has a semi-creamy semi-matte finish with bit of a gloss in it. It glides on smoothly and you don’t need a lip liner to line the edges since the pointy tip of the lipstick will do the job. If you will go through the ingredient list, you will see many types of wax mentioned, which makes it super-comfortable on lips. It is extremely lightweight. It will not dry out your lips since it has vitamin E, vitamin C and Aloe Vera Extract. I will suggest not to go for a balm with this lipstick unless you have very dry lips, because this already contains moisturizing agents and your lips may become too shiny.
Finish: It is semi-creamy and semi- matte in nature. It’s glossy but it is not over the top, just the right amount to give your lips some dimension. This shade is not very dark and not very opaque. It does hide pigmentation, only if its not too much. The shade is beautiful mix of orange and brown and will look lovely on all warm skin tones.
Staying Power: It stays for 3 hours max and transfers a lot. It will stain all your china and glass so be sure to lick the edge of your cup or cocktail flute before you take a sip (do it surreptitiously, nobody wants to be that weird person who licks china, but we all know we must maintain the beautiful lips). It does not stain your lips and comes off easily with a wet wipe. It does not feather so you don’t need a lip-liner for this lipstick.
Pros:
- Nude neutral shade but not flat
- Comfortable on lips
- Does not feather
- Semi-creamy semi-matte finish
Cons:
- Transfers a lot
- Mediocre staying power.
Rating: 3/5
Would I recommend? I would recommend Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Coffee Bean only for the beautiful shade but quality or performance wise this product did not impress me. For the same price you can get both the color and good performance from other options. So, you can skip this product.
