Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream has tub packaging

My experience with The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream:

TBS Seaweed Day cream comes in a plastic tub packaging with an inner lid. The cream is pearly white in color and has a mild fragrance which is pleasant. The texture is that of a gel rather than a cream which is very light. It glides very smoothly on the skin but it takes about 2 to 3 minutes to get completely absorbed into the skin. Once its absorbed, it leaves the skin soft and shine free giving a matte finish. However, the shine and oil comes back within an hour of application which fails in its claim to be mattifying cream. This cream did not cause me any breakouts on my acne prone skin and kept my skin decently hydrated and nourished. Being a day cream, it does not have Spf in it so one would need a separate sunscreen to go under this cream.

Cons:

  • Unhygienic tub packaging.
  • Expensive.
  • Does not mattify my oily skin.
  • Does not control shine or oil for a long time.
  • No Spf.
  • Loads of Chemicals.

Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream Swatch

Final Word:

Overall, I did not like this cream as it does not control shine or oil for a longer period. For the expensive price it comes, I would recommend to try a sample first and then buy the full size product. I would not repurchase this product as it did not serve the purpose of being a mattifying cream for me.

Rating: 2/5

Update : 27/03/2017

The above reviewed Mattifying Day Cream has been discontinued and a new product that goes by the name The Body Shop Seaweed Oil Control Gel Cream has been launched, which I believe is just the revamped version of the former.  It’s priced at approx $15 or Rs.1295 and You can know more about it and buy it from Amazon.com

  1. I would also prefer to try the sample first when it comes to skin care. It doesn’t sound good for oily skin. Honest review!

  2. It’s a average day cream but it’s even more sad if it doesn’t mattify skin according to its claim!
